There seems to be some misunderstanding regarding 'open source' software. 'Open source' does NOT mean a software is more 'secure' or 'private'. It only means the software source code is available for perusal. Just because a software's source code is available to be inspected does NOT mean it HAS been inspected nor 'tested'.
